Position: SENIOR ASSOCIATE (CORPORATE)
Position Overview:
LMA (Liaquat Merchant Associates) is interested in recruiting a mid-level Associate or Senior Associate with post-qualified experience (PQE) of at least 4 years to join its existing team in the Corporate Department.
Key Responsibilities:
The role would be to work closely with the Partners in relation to a broad range of corporate matters including banking and financial services, company law, energy, e-commerce and technology etc. The role will heavily involve covering a full range of banking work, including conventional and Islamic finance and opinions on various aspects of finance and banking.

Qualifications & Skills:
LMA is interested in a dynamic individual with training / experience at a leading firm, excellent academics, who is looking to develop their long-term career in independent practice. The candidate must be able to work independently when so required. The candidate will also be required to assist the Partners in training and mentoring trainee and junior associates and should have an interest in training.
- The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with at least 4+ PQE
- Significant experience from a leading law firm in one or all of the following environments: Banking & Finance / Corporate & Commercial.
- Strong Academics (minimum 2:1 degree)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Effective communicator
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to formulate, consider and select the most appropriate solutions
- Strong relationship management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Excellent drafting skills
