She works closely with other members of the firm, including the Senior Partners and Partners, to provide support in various banking and finance matters in the form of opinion writing, legal research, and drafting a variety of legal documents on issues such as Islamic and Conventional Banking, financing documents, security documents, and various other legal documents. Maryam has worked with the firm’s prominent local and international clients, including but not limited to the Standard Chartered Bank, Bank AL Habib, Covalent (Private) Limited, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, DLA Piper and other financial institutions and corporations on a diverse range of matters including, inter alia, compliance, insurance policies, corporate and commercial matters, as well as financial and security documentation.
Additionally, Maryam also handles property related matters for the firm and has reviewed various property documents for properties being offered as collateral by the various banks and financial institutions.
Prior to joining LMA, Maryam interned with several senior lawyers in the legal fraternity and has specifically worked on matters related to company law, intellectual property, data privacy, banking and finance and corporate and commercial M&As.
Maryam holds a LL.B. (Hons) degree from the University of London and a PDG in Corporate Laws from the Institute of Business Management.
